Opportunities look a lot like work, and other sage advice from an unlikely source

I think Chris “Ashton” Kutcher may have finally grown up.
While some of Kutcher’s words to the Teen Choice Awards audience may have fallen on deaf ears (because they were attached to screaming teenage girls), it was great to hear him tell teens that work is the path to opportunity, to not buy into the superficiality they’re constantly sold, and to think about whether they should fit the lives they choose into a template created by others.

Steve Jobs said when you grow up you tend to get told that world is the way that it is, and that your life is to live your life inside the world and try not to get into too much trouble. Maybe get an education, get a job, make some money, and have a family.
But life can be a lot broader than that when you realize one simple thing: everything around us that we call life was made up of people that are no smarter than you.
…So build a life, don’t live one…
